Beyond Cloud Wins the NetSuite Spotlight Award for AI Innovation in Products

September 16, 2026

Beyond Cloud Consulting has been named a NetSuite Alliance Partner Spotlight Award winner for AI Innovation in Products, Summer 2026.

This one means a little extra. For the Summer 2026 cycle, NetSuite significantly reduced the number of Spotlight categories, which made every remaining award far more competitive. Earning the AI Innovation in Products recognition in that field, and doing it as our second AI innovation Spotlight after our 2025 win, reflects a deliberate, multi-year investment in building real AI products inside real NetSuite implementations.

The project behind the award: Midway Wholesalers.

Midway Wholesalers is a second-generation, cash-and-carry beverage alcohol distributor in Chicago, supplying licensed retailers, bars, and restaurants across Illinois. Before NetSuite, the business ran on QuickBooks alongside a homegrown system written in 1994 and essentially untouched since 2001. Multi-jurisdiction liquor tax was calculated by hand, and the cost of every broken case was quietly absorbed.

Illinois liquor tax is a genuinely hard problem: three separate taxing bodies, rates that vary by product category and alcohol content, assessment by volume rather than value, and applicability that depends on a location code once maintained manually across roughly two thousand customers. The standard tax tools could not represent that structure at all. So we built the tax engine natively in NetSuite, together with a surcharge engine that recovers break-case handling costs inside the order line itself, keeping the customer invoice clean. Midway went live in May 2025 on SuiteSuccess Wholesale Distribution.

The AI Beverage Distribution Intelligence Suite.

What earned the Spotlight is the AI layer built on that foundation: three engines working together on top of the deterministic core.

A product classification and tax compliance copilot reads supplier documentation and spec sheets, recommends each new product’s tax classification with a plain-language rationale, and flags inconsistencies across the catalogue before a misclassification can repeat across every subsequent sale.

A split-case pricing and margin engine models how often each product is actually broken, what it costs to handle, its shrink and its realised margin, then recommends whether every product’s break-case surcharge is still commercially right.

An order integrity monitor risk-scores every transaction for missed surcharges, tax anomalies, and pricing leakage before the invoice ever reaches the customer or the ledger.

The architecture principle behind the suite is what makes it defensible in a regulated industry: AI interprets and recommends, while deterministic engines perform every calculation. Every number that reaches an invoice or a tax filing comes from a rule that can be shown to an auditor. In a category where a filing error is a regulatory event, that boundary is the product.

The power of partnership.

Awards like this belong to our clients as much as to our team. Thank you to Midway Wholesalers for trusting us with the systems their business runs on, and to the Oracle NetSuite Alliance team for the continued recognition. Midway’s journey continues with us through managed services, with point of sale, CRM, and warehouse automation on the roadmap ahead.
