NetSuite Implementation Case Studies

The case studies below show what a custom NetSuite implementation looks like when it is built around how a mid-market business actually operates. As an Oracle NetSuite Alliance Partner and a top award-winning NetSuite partner serving US mid-market companies, Beyond Cloud Consulting does more than switch on the software — we re-engineer the messy, manual, multi-system workflows that hold growing companies back. Each story is a real transformation we delivered (details anonymized at the client’s request), spanning flooring and interiors, aerospace and defense manufacturing, and IT asset disposition. The common thread: a single source of truth on NetSuite, extended with custom-built solutions that solve problems off-the-shelf ERP cannot. Explore our NetSuite implementation, NetSuite customization, and custom integration services to see how we approach work like this.

Flooring & Interiors: From 38 QuickBooks Instances to One Unified ERP

Snapshot: A fast-growing, multi-location commercial flooring & interiors company consolidated 38 separate QuickBooks instances into a single NetSuite platform for ~190 users — and added custom inventory optimization that cut material waste across 13 warehouses.

The Challenge

This national flooring and interiors provider had grown by acquisition and expansion, and its finance stack had grown with it — into 38 different QuickBooks instances spread across subsidiaries. There was no consolidated view of financials or inventory, tax compliance was managed manually (creating real reporting-error and penalty risk), and limited inventory visibility led to surprise stock-outs, lost sales, and missed opportunities. A patchwork of unintegrated custom systems was expensive to maintain and bred inconsistency across the organization.

What We Built

We implemented NetSuite ERP on the Wholesale Distribution Premium edition (~190 users) with Advanced Customer Support (ACS), Warehouse Management System (WMS), and Premium Support. On top of that foundation we engineered several custom solutions — led by our proprietary Material Inventory Optimization engine, which matches multiple variables (weight, type, color, dye lot) to automatically select the optimal carpet-roll and material combinations that minimize waste. We paired it with a Remnant Inventory Scrap solution, a Measure Square™ integration to pull floor dimensions straight into quotes, Avalara™ for automated tax, Google Maps address validation inside NetSuite, a Service Order Resolution workflow with installer self-billing, and an automated queue that creates opportunities from inbound emails across 30+ markets. This is the kind of work detailed on our NetSuite customization and wholesale distribution pages.

The Results

 • 38 QuickBooks instances consolidated to 1 NetSuite platform — one source of truth for finance and inventory.
 • Full visibility across 13 warehouses nationwide, replacing reactive stock-outs with proactive inventory management.
 • Material Inventory Optimization plus the Remnant Scrap solution cut carpet-roll material waste by an estimated ~20%, protecting margin on every order.
 • Month-end close shortened from roughly ~10 days to ~3 days after consolidating financials and automating tax with Avalara.
 • Automated opportunity creation across 30+ markets eliminated a manual, time-consuming process and recaptured an estimated ~15 hours/week of sales-admin effort.

“Going from 38 QuickBooks files to one NetSuite platform changed how we run the business — we finally trust our numbers and we waste far less material on every job.”

Aerospace & Defense Manufacturing: Clearing Bottlenecks with One Source of Truth

Snapshot: A high-growth aerospace & defense components manufacturer unified finance, inventory, and manufacturing on NetSuite — with a custom Manufacturing Project Management solution that removed the operational bottlenecks created by rapid expansion.

The Challenge

This manufacturer — an expert in aircraft and engine tooling, ground support equipment, re-certification, and logistics for demanding defense customers — was scaling fast, and that growth was creating operational bottlenecks. Leadership needed three things: a comprehensive time-and-productivity tracking mechanism, deep automation across document and operational management with a centralized data repository, and tightly integrated shipping and receiving to keep the supply chain coordinated. Their disconnected processes couldn’t keep pace with the expansion ahead.

What We Built

We started with core NetSuite for Manufacturing (MFG Standard) plus SuiteProjects for professional-services automation, Learning Cloud Support, and Premium Support — then built our custom Manufacturing Project Management solution to integrate financial, inventory, and manufacturing functions into one system. The implementation enabled enhanced supply chain management, automated planning and scheduling, a more efficient procurement process, and advanced reporting and analytics, with role-based dashboards unifying every department on a single platform. See how we approach this on our manufacturing and NetSuite implementation pages.

The Results

 • Finance, inventory, and manufacturing unified into a single “source of truth,” replacing siloed, disconnected processes.
 • Operational bottlenecks from rapid expansion removed, with end-to-end visibility into business workflows.
 • Process automation across document and operational management reduced manual handling by an estimated ~40%.
 • Production scheduling lead time cut by an estimated ~30% with automated planning and scheduling.
 • On-time order fulfillment improved to an estimated ~95% as supply-chain coordination tightened.

“Beyond Cloud’s communication, responsiveness, and attention to detail set them apart — NetSuite gave us the visibility and automation we needed to keep scaling without the bottlenecks.”

ITAD & Technology Refurbishment: Serial-Level Traceability and Automated Commissions

Snapshot: An IT asset disposition (ITAD) & technology refurbishment company replaced a siloed QuickBooks, RazorERP, and eBay stack with NetSuite — gaining full PO/SO serial-number traceability and a custom consignment-commission engine that ended manual Excel reconciliation.

The Challenge

This ITAD and technology-refurbishment company — focused on maximizing the lifetime value of obsolete assets through reuse, redeployment, and recycling — was running on three disparate systems (QuickBooks, RazorERP, and eBay) that didn’t talk to each other. The result was desynchronized inventory visibility and tracking. Their EPS grading system was completely unintegrated, and tracking purchases and sales for commission calculations required heavy manual effort to reconcile inside Excel.

What We Built

We deployed NetSuite for Wholesale Distribution (WD Standard) with ACS, WMS, Premium Support, and a Sandbox, then engineered a custom consignment-commission solution built on comprehensive traceability of purchase orders and sales orders down to the serial number, with vendor inventory visibility. We introduced serial-number tracking, available-stock, and other inventory metrics — accurate, automated, and accessible at vendor locations — automated data collection and categorization (by asset category, manufacturer, part number, serial number, and configuration), and a seamless integration with their EPS grading system. This blends our custom integration and software/technology expertise.

The Results

 • Three disparate systems (QuickBooks, RazorERP, eBay) consolidated into one specialized NetSuite ERP.
 • Full serial-number traceability across every purchase order and sales order, with vendor-level inventory visibility.
 • Complex seller-and-buyer commission calculations fully automated — eliminating an estimated ~25 hours/month of manual Excel reconciliation.
 • Seamless EPS grading-system integration plus comprehensive 360° operational reporting.
 • Inventory reconciliation accuracy improved to an estimated ~99% with automated, serial-level tracking.

“The implementation was quick and it optimized our distribution and consignment processes — we finally make data-informed decisions instead of wrestling spreadsheets.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have experience in my industry?

Almost certainly. We've delivered NetSuite implementations across flooring and interiors, aerospace and defense manufacturing, IT asset disposition, wholesale distribution, software and technology, construction, and more. Each project is tailored to the realities of that vertical — from serial-number traceability in ITAD to project-based manufacturing — so the platform fits how you actually operate. Tell us your industry on our contact page and we'll point you to the most relevant work.

Can you share references or case studies?

Yes. The anonymized case studies on this page reflect real NetSuite transformations we delivered for US mid-market companies, with quantified outcomes. Once we understand your goals, we're happy to arrange reference conversations with clients in a similar industry or of a similar size so you can hear about the experience directly.

What results can I expect from a NetSuite implementation?

It depends on your starting point, but the pattern is consistent: a single source of truth replacing disconnected systems, automation of manual and error-prone processes, real inventory and financial visibility, and a platform that scales as you grow. Our clients have consolidated dozens of QuickBooks instances into one ERP, cleared operational bottlenecks, and automated complex commission and inventory workflows. We set measurable targets with you up front so success is defined before we begin.

Do you build custom solutions, or just configure the standard product?

Both — and the custom work is where we stand out. Beyond standard configuration, we've built proprietary solutions like Material Inventory Optimization (to minimize material waste), Manufacturing Project Management, and serial-traceability-based consignment-commission engines, plus integrations to tools like Measure Square, Avalara, Google Maps, and third-party grading systems.
